As defined by Random House

fortuitous

  1. happening or produced by chance; accidental: a fortuitous encounter.
  2. lucky; fortunate: The money came at the most fortuitous moment.

Usage: FORTUITOUS has developed in sense from "happening by chance" to "happening by lucky chance" to simply lucky. Many object to the last meaning, insisting the FORTUITOUS be kept to its original sense of "accidental." In modern standard use, however, the word almost always carries a sense of both chance and luck.

The context of this web

To me, this word embodies a way of looking at the world. We all have choices in our life. The most basic choice is "how we perceive" that which happens in our life. Truly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
